Hot Audio: I will not let you down – Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians

President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is promising to accelerate Ghana’s development in the shortest possible time.

Addressing party supporters shortly after he was crowned winner of Wednesday polls, the president-elect said he will do everything in his power to resuscitate the economy.

"I make this solemn vow to you, I will not let you down. I will do all in my power to live up to your hopes and expectations. You are to be commended for the mature, peaceful and orderly which you once again exercised your democratic rights," he said Friday at his residence.

The three-time lucky NPP leader polled  5,716,026 to beat incumbent President John Mahama who had 4,713, 277 Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei announced Friday evening.

He is now the Ghana’s 5th President of the Fourth Republic after an impressive performance in the 2016 presidential poll.

The declaration is also a confirmation of Joy News' projection which predicted a win for Nana Akufo-Addo with a margin of 53.35 percent.

According to EC statistics, Nana Akufo-Addo recorded 53.85% of the total votes cast as against 44.40 by President Mahama.
